Malaria in Pregnancy study community sensitization

We will soon begin a pilot research study on mass administration of malaria prophylaxis among pregnant women in Kasese district.  Malaria in pregnancy causes congenital disorders, low birth weight, and death. The study shall be implemented in Bugoye subcounty. On Oct 8th, 2025, the study team held a meeting with the LC1 chairmen and VHTs representing the 35 villages in the sub-county. The study aims to enroll 300 pregnant women (22 weeks and a half) who will be seeking antenatal care services at Bugoye HC III​.
